Widow by Ritual This old cult band from the UK started playing in 1973 and it wasn't until 1983 until they got their first full-length out called "Widow". Strangely enough the band was referred to as WIDOW back then because apparently the records that were floating around had no RITUAL name on it. RITUAL blends an unusual mix of 70's heavy rock and 80's rock sounds from the N.W.O.B.H.M. with a real dream-like effect. Unisonic est le groupe fondé en novembre 2009 par Michael Kiske (voix) et Dennis Ward (basse) (Pink Cream 69, Place Vendome). Le batteur Kosta Zafiriou (ex Pink Cream 69, ex Place Vendome) et le guitariste Mandy Meyer (ex-Stealin Horses, ex-Van Zant) se sont rallié au projet dès le départ. GLADENFOLD is a group of five that originally saw its first light a decade ago (2003). Our style is melodic death based metal with a twist of power metal. Grand and epic orchestral parts are a distinct element in our music that can clearly be heard on this album. The 8th full-length of the US power/thrash veterans from Boston MELIAH RAGE was supposed to be out last year, but apart from finding a new vocalist, the band didn’t have much luck, in particular due to health problems of the guitarist Anthony Nichols (who underwent 2 surgeries for herniated disc last June, and in December suffered severe wrist injury requiring multiple plates and screws). It will still take months before they can play live again, as besides the broken bones, Anthony’s tendons and nerves will need recovery time, but at least their new CD "Warrior" is finished and will be released in Europe on April 25th (at the Keep It True festival ). The new album is more in-your-face and aggressive than their last one, mostly thanks to the new singer, whose vocals, while being pretty versatile, are less melodic, but the band’s trademark intricate dual guitar harmonies and melodic interludes are still there of course. German blackened thrash metal underdogs OUTRAGE started out in 1983 and were a part of the first wave of black metal. They are, without a doubt, one of the most underrated bands from that period but this doesn’t seem to discourage them. On April 25th their 7th full-length "We the Dead" will see the light of day. Over the years, they have developed their own personal style making them stand out not only from the bands of the early/mid ’80s but also from many contemporary black/thrash bands. The 3rd album of MORTALICUM “Tears from the Grave” will be out on April 25th at the Keep It True festival , which became sort of tradition for these Swedish doom rockers (their debut was out at KIT 2010 and their second one at KIT 2012). It’s their most doomy release with longest and slowest songs, full of soulful melodies, but those who loved their more hard rocking side need not worry, as it’s still very much present here - the more upbeat songs have really infectious riffs and just call for headbanging. Metallica sort en 1983 l'album Kill'em All . Il s'agit du point de départ du metal moderne ce que l'on appelle communément thrash metal. Il s'agit d'un union réussi de l’immédiateté du punk avec les mélodies de la NWOBHM. En quelque sorte Metallica est la réponse outre atlantique de la NWOBHM. Avant cet album on n'avait pas entendu de sonorité si rapides, si lourdes. Chaque titre est un petit bijou. Il y a des titres comme Seek and Destroy , No Remorse ou encore The Four Horsemen qui ont fait l'histoire du Thrash et qui sont joué encore aujourd'hui en live par le groupe. il faut citer aussi l'instrumentale (Anesthesia) Pulling Teeth qui consiste en solo de basse exceptionnel réalisé par Cliff Burton (rip). Aujourd'hui je lance une nouvelle rubrique nommé tout simplement symbolisme . En effet dans le metal plusieurs groupes utilisent des symboles plus ou moins connus pour leur artworks et l'idée de cette section est celle de les analyser sans être (forcement) exaustifs. Vulvagun est un groupe originaire de Melbourne (Australie) et qui a sorti son premier album Cold Moon over Babylon . Le groupe évolue dans un registre thrash / power metal aux accents sombres. Il y a un coté mélodique très développé avec une bonne puissance, une bonne dose d’originalité et surtout un songwriting des plus inspiré. Vulvagun se compose du fondateur et guitariste / chanteur / claviériste Wayne Dwyer, du batteur Chris Phillips, du guitariste George Larin et du bassiste Evan Harris (ex Black Majesty et Eyefear) .
